Dr J K Mohnot

Initially, worked as Asstt. Manager (Mines), Maldeota Underground Rockphosphate Mine, P.P.C.L. (Govt. of India Undertaking), Dehradun from 1988-89.

Currently working as Scientist-EII, Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (Formerly Central Mining Research Institute), Regional Centre, Roorkee (Uttaranchal). Joined the CMRI in Dec., 1989
as Scientist-B.

Obtained the M.S. from BITS, Pilani in year 1993 as CSIR sponsored candidate.

Awarded First Class Metalliferous Mine Manager's Certificate in 1996. Awarded Ph.D. Degree in Mining Engineering by ISM, Dhanbad in year 2003 for thesis on "Formulation of Optimum Investment Decision Model for Economic Evaluation of Mining Venture".

Contributed for excellent application-oriented R&D projects and significantly completed about 30 Research & Development Projects on Mining, Underground Space and Tunnelling Technology and
International Collaborative Projects with Czech Republic, Japan, Russia and USA.

Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and Member of leading professional societies and internationally travelled on deputations to Russia, U.K. and Czech Republic for scientific collaborative
programmes (and again visiting to Czech from Sept 24 to Oct.14, 2007).

Recipient of `Rashtriya Ratna Award 2001' and `Certificate of Excellence' in recognition of Excellent Achievements in the field of Mining Engineering Research.

I have been conferred the prestigious National Mineral Award-2004 in the field of Mining Technology for his mining specialised works in the areas of (a) Mine Planning and Mine Economics (b) Metalliferous Mining Technology including Environmental Protection (c) Underground Space Technology as New Applications of Mining Technology. The National Mineral Award was presented on 8th March, 2006 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi by Shri Sis Ram Ola, Hon'ble Minister of Mines,
Govt. of India.
